William Wall died of heart failure on May 19, 1901 on a train car in Trent Vale, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire. He was 79 years of age and was an insurance agent of Wolseley Road, Oakhill, Stoke upon Trent.

An inquest was held on May 22, 1901.
